The following is a speculation on what the Miers nomination means:

A few years ago I saw the Spook who sat by the Door for the first time. It was a movie made in the seventies that was an adaptation of a book. It was about a black militant black who joins the CIA when the sitting President want to “get the Black Vote” and integrates it. He plays the role of “one of the good ones” but earns the disdain of the other Black in his training class. He excels in his training and is the only one in his class who graduates. He the spends five years in the reproduction room coping top secrete documents. After the five years he quits then goes into the inner cities to teach what he has learned about tactics and destabilizing governments to inner city youth, and he starts a rebellion.

Well Harriet Miers may be the “Neo-con who sat by the door” All of the conservatives are in a tissy over her nomination, that she made are no public statements about her views on all of the issues that they care about. Can I say Duuuuuuuhhh!! This is by design. Bush wants someone who CAN get on the court. Some one who triggers a filibuster by the democrats is useless, know matter what his credentials. Lucky for Miers, the Democrats are completely without any ammo to stir up a public frenzy over her. And if the Republicans just get behind their guy, she will sail through confirmation. Who cares who she gave money to in the passed. She was the White House Counsel. GW knows her. He is not going unless he knows how she will vote on certain things. So in the end you guys are going to get what you want out of her. So stop belly aching and trust your fearless leader. Its kinda like jury duty. If you WANT to serve on a jury you don’t say, something like “I hate cops they’re all pigs” or “abort all black babies to reduce crime” because you are showing an obvious bias.

Just like in the movie “Uncle Tom” had to get recruited for his plan to work. So he played the role nessessry for that to happen. But once she has what she want … a position on the highest court in the land … for life you will see she is your girl.
