It has now come time to introduce myself. To do that I decided to ask myself a few questions and com up with this FAQ.

Who are you ?
I am a software developer for a large Media Company. I have a BS in Computer Science and have been doing this for a living for about a decade. I am a husband and a father. I have two boys. I am a Christian. I have a house and a matching mortgage.

No I mean what’s you’re name?

Why is the name of your blog blackhacker.net?
A few reasons :

1. Its a cool sounding name, and surprisingly the domain was available.
2. It’s how I really describe who I am, and how I perceive myself.
3. Black hackers are rare, almost to the point of being oxymoronic. Or maybe it is that it seems that way because we are so disbursed. Anyway this is a way to let the world know that know that there are a few of us out there.

So your a Hacker?
Yes, I am a Hacker, meaning one who is computer enthusiast and was good at programing. Not one who access computer systems without permission. That is a cracker.

What is this site going to be about? Is this going to be a nerd boy site?
No. I’ll talk about all kinds of stuff. Tech Software, Science, Politics, Stuff that made me think, Stuff that made me Cry, Stuff that’s got be PO ed, Religion, faith. …. You name it.

So your one of those long hair hippy, anti Microsoft, UNIX guys?
No. I don’t have long hair and I am not a hippie. But I am enthusiastic about Open Source Software. I and quietly dream of a fiery demise of Microsoft, as well as any company that shows so much disregard for there customers and vendors, and OEMs that Microsoft does.

So you ARE one of those leftist Communist guys who hate America huh ?
No. My politics are MY politics. But if I where to be judged by my voting record I am a Liberal. I love this country. I love the fact that I can communicate with people like the way that I am communicating with you and the Government is obligated to protected it. I love the fact that I can work hard and maybe become rich. I respect those who choose to defend this country. I respect those go when they are called and not wimp out. Even when I can’t respect those who ordered them to go or the reasons why they where sent.

What do you think about P2P file sharing?
I think it is a great revolutionary technology. And that it has the potential to unseat the large media giants that guardians of information, much like the Internet itself. But Stealing is still stealing.

What do you think about the RIAA ?
Can’t stand them, because the RIAA represent companies that often screw there own artists, as well spew out the most mediocre products that my $15 could by, and then whine about piracy is killing their business when their sales go into the crapper. Still they have a point. And they are both morally and legally right to protect their copyrights, even if their method of suing their customers is beyond stupid.

What do you think about Linux?
Great OS better than windows. But I like FreeBSD
(told I am a nerd even among geeks)

What do you think about Iraq?
Reminds me of the movie ‘Fatal Attraction.’ We thought we could ‘hit-and-quit-it’ but she keeps coming around she keeps coming around and boiling our bunnies. There is a thoughtful analogy in there somewhere. If you keep looking you will find it, and so will I.

So you are against the war on Terror ?
The Iraq war is not the WOT I am still trying to figure out what it is all about, but It made no sense to go there. There where inspectors on the ground and had access to all they asked for. Saddam was not using the same “cheat and retreat” tactic he had been using. Oddly enough I think it was Bush’s saber rattling got him to behave. Iraq was NOT an immanent threat. But for some reason I believe Bush wanted this war. And would not stop until he got it. All the while we still have not found Osama Bin Laden, and are still fighting a war in Afghanistan.

Do you believe in God?
yes

Do you believe in Jesus?
Yes, he is God’s son.

I thought all of you long haired hacker hippies where all atheists.
I said before before I am not a hippie, I do not have long hair, and all hackers are not hippies. In fact this guy is one of the most respected hackers in the world and he is a Christian. This guys a Christian too.
